Redcliffe Children's Centre evolved from being a purpose built Nursery School in the 1960's to an Early Years Centre in 2000, to an Early Excellence Centre in 2003. The Senior Management / LeadershipTeam reflect the integrated services provided at the Centre. The nursery building is set amidst a group of high rise flats close to the city centre and areas of historical interest. In 2009 we acquired family service space at unused church premises only 100 yards from our main building.

The Brentry & Henbury Children's Centre (BHCC) was originally set up in the grounds of Brentry Primary School as a Neighbourhood Nursery by the Charity that bears the same name in 2004 with fundingfrom the National Lottery. Members of a local Playgroup and the local community commissioned research into the need for childcare and family support within the locality (Kimberlee, 2003) to gain the funding needed.
Bristol Childcare is a family run business. It started in 1971 when Bruce and Sue Farr opened Mornington House, one of the first day nurseries in Bristol. Forty-two years later Bruce and Sue are stillinvolved in the nurseries along with their children and their husband and wives. This longevity means that we really understand children and their needs and the breadth of experience across the family means that we can run a sustainable business while keeping a homely, personal feel.
