We also have a large outdoor allotment for the children to plant, grow and eventually pick their own vegetables from. As you can probably guess, we like our children to keep busy, and subject to the Scottish weather, occupied with many outdoor activities. Food is very important to us and plays a huge part of daily life in our nursery. It's essential that the children's food is made from wholesome and nutritious ingredients.
Blackburn Family Centre was established in 1997 to provide free childcare and support for families suffering long-term unemployment. The organisation has grown in response to the needs of the area and its families, it now emplys 3 full time and 3 part time staff, along with 4 sessional workers. On 16th. April 2009 the organisation became a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee and is run by a Board of Trustees comprising local people and service users.
