Job Title - Preschool and out of school club Manager
An exciting opportunity for an experienced, energetic and creative candidate to undertake all aspects of the day to day running of our wonderfully resourced, charity-run preschool. Responsible for curriculum planning, budget management as well as staff supervision and development. Must provide a child and family-centred approach inline with current EYFS/Ofsted guidance. Be able to demonstrate confidence and leadership to instil a sense of trust and partnership with both staff and families alike. Working under own initiative and reporting to the committee. We are rated Outstanding by Ofsted and looking for a manager who is committed to maintaining that rating.
Manage and maintain the preschool building.
Oversee planning and implementation of EYFS curriculum.
Knowledgeable about all relevant legislation (including child protection, health and safety, Ofsted etc)
Supervision of staff, students and volunteers
Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead
Support Deputy Manager's SEN role
Lead professional for behaviour management
Build and maintain relationships with the families who use the setting.
Build and maintain relationships with local authority personnel, long-term contractors as well as our ground rent landlord
Knowledgeable and up to date on all relevant documents that inform practice, including but not limited to, EYFS Development Matters document
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification and commitment to Continuing Professional Development
Minimum 2 years management experience
Excellent communication skills. Ability to establish rapport and credibility with families and the ability to produce clear, concise and we'll written reports. For example referrals, disciplinaries, recruitment etc. Communication/reports to committee
Experience using Microsoft Office package. Responsible for implementing new office practices as required
Staff management including their CPD, appraisals, resource planning, rotas etc
Emotionally resilient and able to work under pressure. Approachable and able to boost morale
Able to promote a caring, inclusive and enjoyable setting for staff and families alike
Expected to be counted in staffing numbers in the playroom on a regular basis and be able to work between 7am and 6pm
Desirable criteria:
Experience or knowledge of working in the voluntary sector
BA Hons or EYP an advantage
Experience of recruitment
Compensation:
£27-35K + Bonus PA negotiable
This is a full time, year round position however the committee is prepared to negotiate terms, including a term time contract and job share opportunity
