My name is Claire Ferns and I come from an environmental background where I have worked mainly as a ranger for the Scottish Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust and Atholl Estates and worked as asurveyor for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Forestry Commission.

Abbey Nursery, established in 1997, is a custom built facility offering high quality education and day care. Our aim is to ensure that a safe, high quality provision is offered to children aged 6weeks to 5 years. Staff have been involved in designing and planning our purpose built facility to maximise your child's potential for learning in a happy, stimulating, safe and secure environment. We believe that we can best meet the needs of individual children by working closely with parents and carers.

Our nursery follows the national guidance of Pre-birth to Three for our younger children, which promotes the principals of Rights of the Child, Responsive care, Relationships and Respect. Our 3-5curriculum meets local and national guidance through Curriculum for Excellence. This is the curriculum followed by the vast majority of Scottish pre-schools, primary schools and secondary schools.

I offer a home-from-home childminding service for children aged 3 months to 5 years from my happy home in Clermiston. Children in my care can expect a warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere and astimulating, fun and rewarding time with varied activities to fuel their imaginations. Parents can expect a professional, diligent and courteous childminder with all the relevant policies in place. Many thanks for visiting my site, if you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me.

The organisation developed in response to an identified need for affordable, flexible childcare in North Edinburgh that would enable local parents and carers to access increased opportunities forwork, training or education. A group of local women campaigned over a number of years for the creation of a custom built (state of the art) childcare facility. In the Spring of 1997, the dream became a reality.

CAIRN MHOR CHILDCARE PARTNERSHIP was established in 2002 and now provides high quality residential care for up to eleven children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18 in three houses locatedin the Central Fife area. We hope you enjoy seeing around our nursery and that the information is useful. If there is anything else you would like to know, please phone or pop in and we will be only too happy to answer anyquestions. We know that choosing the best care for your child is a very important decision and if you are looking for childcare for the first time it can be a bit daunting.

Peek-a-Boo Nurseries have been developed to ensure that the children are at the centre of the nurseries. We adopt an 'open door' policy with our parents/carers to help them and their children get asmuch out of their time with us as possible. The learning environments are stimulating and challenging and reflect children's interests and experiences.
