I'm 30 and living in Paignton Torbay with my partner and his 6 year old daughter and currently working as a specialist nursery nurse within the NHS and also provide private Nannying and babysitting services. We are open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm. Roselands operates throughout the academic year, providing care and education for children aged 2 to 5. We provide a breakfast and afterschool club for children attending Roselands Primary School. Children are welcome to attend up to the age of 11.
Whilst on my Level 3 Childcare and Education course, I attended 2 years of experience working in White Rock Primary School, Goodrington Pre-School and Kings and Queens Baby room. Within this time i learnt all about children and how they develop and also what is needed for them to develop. I learnt more about myself too and picked up on my strengths and weakness.
Our Pre-School, which opened in 1994, is operated as a non-profit making charity and run by fully qualified staff, overseen by a voluntary committee. We offer education and care for children from the age of 2 years until they leave to start Primary School as a rising 5 year old. The setting was established in 1982 as Shiphay Day Nursery and was re-registered by us in 2004. The nursery is now known as Jack and Jill Childcare and is situated in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Torquay, close to local schools and Torbay hospital.
